1.Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.
No wonder a Pythagorean's most sacred oath was by this tetractys, the Principle of Health and 'fount and root of ever-flowing nature'.

2.Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you reach?
A scarf hanging between my computer and a lamp.

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Burn Notice. Yes, the last time I watched TV was the last time there was an episode of Burn Notice.
If you count TV shows watched on a computer, Doctor Who.

4. Without looking, guess what time it is:
Two ... o'clock?

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
2:31. Close enough.

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Passing cars, the heater running.

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
About half an hour ago to take laundry downstairs.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
The latest deviations on my deviantwatch.

9. What are you wearing?
Black jeans, a mulberry-coloured shirt and a soft brown t-shirt that says 'Cleveland'. Fun fact: I have never even been to Cleveland.

10. Did you dream last night?
Presumably. I think I remember something about Lady Sybil Ramkin. TOO MUCH DISCWORLD.

11. When did you last laugh?
I forget.

12. What are on the walls of the room you are in?
White paint. There are vertical grooves carved into the walls. Some cobwebs. The connecting room's wall decor is much more interesting: two lamps, a pentacle, a broom, a calendar, and a giant rosette with streamers coming off of it made from paper.

13. Seen anything weird lately?
Honestly, I'm no longer sure what's weird.

14. What do you think of this quiz?
Mediocre at best, Potter. :|

15. What is the last film you saw?
I think it was Gosford Park.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
Some land. A house. And a lot of books for the huge library in the house. And a camera. And a COW, and some goats! Oh and maybe some furniture for the house.

17. Tell me something about you that I don't know about.
I pace when I get excited about something.

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
I would make gender not be defined in anyone's mind by genitals or chromosomes or hormones.

19. Do you like to dance?
Yes, even if I'm terrible at it.

20. George Bush:
DO NOT WANT.

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Halley, or Cassini (Cassie for short!)

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Kepler, or Hawking

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
It wouldn't be abroad anymore once I lived there.

24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly gates?
A friendly greeting always gives the best impression at social functions.

25.Tag six people who must also do this in THEIR journal:
Eh.

  • Mood: Christmas Spirited
  • Reading: Thud! by Terry Pratchett

deviantID

Tea: Prince of Wales, milk, no sugar.
Coffee: Strong and black.
Stuff I like: drawing, writing (novels), reading, photography, cross-country skiing, dungeons and dragons, revising anything, etymology, astronomy, physics, chocolate, NaNoWriMo, baking, science fiction, webcomics, rats, cats, pallid bats*, and living in Northern California.
Languages I speak: fluent English and just enough German to make a few bad jokes and notice when English words have German roots/relatives. I also know a tiny amount of Spanish, but only as much as you can gain from living in CA all your life; I should learn more.

Favorite Authors: Ursula K Le Guin, Terry Pratchett, Patrick O'Brian.

Why I draw: I want to get ideas out of my head and onto paper. This is also the main reason I write, but sometimes an idea just needs to be visual. Sometimes an idea needs to be tasteable, though, in which case I bake a cake.
As for photography... I take pictures because I take pictures. I enjoy it and it makes me feel fuzzy inside. It's difficult to describe.

Fun facts:
My favorite part of the creative process is revision. When it comes to art I'm self-taught - well, self-teaching really. When it comes to photography, I'm self-taught except for one darkroom class, which was rad. I'm Irish-Lebanese, mostly. I get twitchy when people use certain words flippantly, two of which are 'nazi' and 'retarded' - please don't, this is srs business. I like to think I'm literate but I've been known to talk (in real life more than on the intarwubs) like a walking LOLcat. I'm a little arrogant, and deserve to be taken down a notch. I like costuming and sewing in general. I've done NaNoWriMo three years in a row now, and reached the goal of 50,000 words once. I knit - sort of. People say that I'm like a cartoon made flesh, only crazier. As soon as I scorn a slang word it slips into my speech - examples include rad, chillax and dude.

In short, if you like people who know (or at least say) less nonsense about themselves, you probably won't like me.

*Pallid bats are a type of bat that chillaxes here in Northern California. They eat crickets, but not the legs, which they leave lying around. Yeah, they're pretty rad dudes.

Ask me about the many-worlds theories! *nerd*

"Character ALWAYS comes first, before the physical representation. We are not what we look like. We are not even what we sound like. We are how we move; in other words our personalities. And that personality is unique to each of us." - Chuck Jones
